Supported by the European Commission, the annual Conference eChallenges will take place in Lisbon, Portugal from 17 to 19 October and will focus on Applied Technologies addressing major Social Challenges.

The international eChallenges Forum will celebrate 22^nd edition in October and will meet senior representatives from government and research organizations around the world and business leaders.

The goals of eChallenges e-2012 are to promote wider socio-economic impact through knowledge sharing and exploitation of applied ICT research results and innovation, and in particular by stimulating rapid take-up of RTD results by industry and in particular SMEs. By bringing together key actors from industry, government and research, it provides an important vision about the current state of sectoral, national and regional eAdoption.

The participants will be on Lisbon, Portugal, from 17 to 19 October, and will share knowledge, experiences, lessons learnt and good practices around use of technologies addressing major world challenges. eChallenges showcases strategic keynote presentations, technical and policy papers, case studies and workshops sharing success stories and lessons learnt around this topic.

The Commercialisation, exploitation and interoperability ICT issues will be key aspects of the programme, besides the internacional cooperation role.
