TERENA invites to submit proposals for the TERENA Networking Conference 2011 (TNC2011), to be held in Prague between May 16 and 19, 2011, will feature “Enabling Communities” as core topic. The deadline for submitting papers is 30 November. In order to encourage the participation of the Latin American community, CLARA will cover through the ALICE2 project the airfare, meal and registration expenses of those who submit a paper that is accepted to be presented in TNC2011.

Under the auspices of the Czech National Research and Education Network (CESNET), the annual conference of the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association, TERENA (TNC2011), will cover topics like future networks, advanced applications and services and digital lifestyle.
TNC2011 is the meeting point for European networks which gathers university communities and national networks. Its aim is to showcase the European and world collaboration, as well as the world development, the current challenges and the recent results in topics and areas addressed by the conference. These include:
• Future Networks: network technology, network management, control planes, virtual networks, future networks, bandwidth on demand, network architectures
• Communities & Identities: federations, virtual organisation & collaborations, e-science ecosystems, future research communities, future of the classroom, student communities, identity management, reshaping collaboration, teaching and learning communities, intelligent crowds
• Supporting Collaboration: real-time collaboration, access everywhere, collaboration beyond academic boundaries, social media
• Advanced Applications & Services: advanced media, location-aware services, Grids & clouds, storage and databases, advanced & demanding applications
• Digital Lifestyle: social considerations, privacy, security challenges, Internet governance, social media, digital natives
Extended abstracts of 600 to 1200 words (rather than complete papers) can be sent through the drop box at the following address https://tnc2011.terena.org/participate/submit/ until 30 November, 2010.

In order to select the papers that will be presented in TNC2011, all submitted papers will have to undergo three in-depth revisions: (1) double-blind (at least three reviewers), (2) non- blind and (3) revisions by participant peers. The authors will receive the result of the assessments made by the people that review the articles.
ALICE2-CLARA benefit for Latin American researchers
Through the ALICE2 project, CLARA will cover the airfare, accommodation, meal and registration expenses for those people who submit an article that is accepted to be presented in TNC2011.
In order to obtain this benefit, researchers will have to accredit their acceptance to the Conference and send a copy of the accepted material by email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Each researcher will also have to attach a letter from the institution he/she belong to stating that the researcher has its support and that he/she will be able to make effective use of this benefit which in valid only for TNC2011 and under conditions herein stated.
