On Monday, the National Open University (UNA) of Venezuela will hold a videoconference on his 33 years of experience in distance education. The presentation will be delivered by Rector Dr. Manuel Castro Pereira.

Different and interesting topics about distance education will be addressed in a keynote event that will take place on Monday 12 July, in the videoconference room at the National Center for Technological Innovation (CENIT) in UNA, La Carlota. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Venezuela time) and be chaired by the Rector of the school, Dr. Manuel Castro Pereira. The Vice-President of the UNA, Dr. Nestor Leal Ortiz, will give a lecture with the theme: "For a distance learner psychology." In his exhibition will present a preliminary definition of distance student psychology, conceived as an "epistemic space focused on the study of the phenomena of the adaptation process of individual non-attendance systems." Leal Ortiz, based on research conducted by the UNA, pose like this psychology includes the approach to systems of representations, attitudes and values of students, the student dropout; interaction, distance education academic fraud, the styles and learning strategies, students' emotional reactions and non-attendance systems. The expert of the UNA has a doctorate in social sciences and Magister Scientiarum degree in psychology from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. His 25 years of experience in institution and its research reflected in books like "The Loneliness of the Distance Learning Student" makes him a specialist in the field. The second paper will be headed by Dr. Ericka Naveda, a graduate in psychology, social psychology option of the UCV, as well as in-depth studies of Science in Education and PhD in Education at the University of Paris VIII. With 25 years of service on the UNA and a title with a Tele expert at the University of Seville, Dr. Naveda talk about "The Experience of Teacher Training and Update." Through this thematic outline the expertise developed in the UNA, as a system of distance education. Finally, during the event will address the topic of "Online Registration System at National Level", by Professor Arelis Coromoto Saavedra, a professor in education and humanities, with a degree in Orientation from UPEL and a master degree in Open and Distance Education of the UNA. Arelis, who is also a doctoral candidate in Education at the University of Malaga, explain how the responsibilities of the secretariat of the UNA has been incorporating ICT and how it has impacted the design and implementation of a system of interaction that accompanies the distance learner. Because UNA does not yet have the Network Connection Speed (Reacciun2), under the coordination of CENIT, it will have the support of universities and institutes Fundacities connected to the academic network, located in various major cities.
