The online course will run for 10 weeks and shall include among its topics digital public services, education in the digital age and the RedIRIS case: academic networks. The deadline for registration is April 22th and there are scholarships available for those interested.

red.es/CeddetRed.es in conjunction with the CEDDET Foundation and in collaboration with the Spanish Agency for International Development (AECI) calls for the fifth edition of the online course "Public Policies for the Promotion of Information Society. The Red.es Project".

The course will include among its objectives to raise awareness of the major programs implemented by Red.es in the Av@nza plan and how good practices developed for promoting the Information Society that can be transferred to third-country realities.

It will also allow to present the main programs and the functional areas that are cover to promote the Knowledge Society in Spain: Citizens in the Information Society, Education in the digital age, digital public services, Digital Economy , New Digital Context, RedIRIS, National Observatory of Telecommunications and Information Society, Dominios.es.

Aimed at government officials and members of public and private entities dedicated to the promotion of the Information Society in Latin America, the course will run for 10 weeks and the program will include the following modules:

Module 0: Managing the virtual classroom.
Module 1: The promotion of information society from the public management. Ignacio Espejo Saavedra Hernandez.
Module 2: Programs for the promotion of information society: working for the network society, public services, education, digital context and digital economy. María Fernández Rancaño / Elena González Miguel / María Dolores Gonzalo Tomey / Antonio Saravia González.
Module 3: Best practices: institutional experiences for the promotion and analysis of information society. Alberto Urueña Lopez / Alberto Perez Gómez.

For all those interested the price will be of 1,650 €, but there are scholarships available to cover the cost, and the only payment will be the tuition (40 € for public agencies, 329 € for private sector).

Course dates: May 7th to July 15th, 2012 (10 weeks)
