The technical community of the region has the opportunity to be part of the basic course of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) organized by RedCLARA and that will be held on a remote basis. The main requirement is t be a technician that works or collaborate with a National Research and Education Network (NREN), an institution member of one of the NRENs, or RedCLARA.

VoIPThe Latin American Cooperation on Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) invites all NRENs technical personnel and all the different staff members of the national networks (universities, research centers) to join the Voice Over IP basic course. Registration will be open until May 7th.

The activities, that will be developed remotely, aim to provide the participants the skills to set, configured and integrate applications of a PBX based on Asterix.

This is the third remote course on Voice Over IP offered by RedCLARA and it is expected that at the end the technicians get general knowledge on protocols, E.164 addressing and traffic analysis.

During the almost 40 hours of the course, will take place the configuration of softphones, including SIP and additional lines integrating external applications.

The course will be held on the Virtual Learning Environment named RedCLARA Aprende. Those taking part of it will have the support of two recognized specialists on the subject, the instructors: AlexGalhano Robertson and Camila Fausto da Motta Santos, from the Brazilian NREN, RNP.

RedCLARA will deliver participations certificates to those that conclude with a grade above 60%.
