The publication features 16 interviews with women working in organizations member of IANAS in areas such as medicine, chemistry, biology, astronomy, microbiology, archeology and meteorology. Available in Spanish and English, the book can be downloaded free from the Internet.

book “Women Scientists in the Americas, their inspiring stories”On International Women's Day the Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS) launched the book “Women Scientists in the Americas, their inspiring stories”, a release that reunites the stories of 16 outstanding scientist women.

According to the Presentation signed by IANAS co-chairs Michael Clegg and Juan Pedro Laclette the book aims to tell how and why creative women choose science as a career in order to encourage young women to think of science as they evaluate their own future opportunities.

“Each symbolizes countless other gifted and dedicated scientists who are working every day to solve important problems and to add to our precious store of knowledge,” declare the text.
