The conference, held in India, will discuss how the Web has revolutionized the way we live in the past two decades. The scholarships are aimed at professors and students from developing regions.

The website has been the catalyst of information across borders, over the past 20 years, allowing it to develop a digital information economy and providing services previously unimaginable.

But despite the internet can be wonderful, its impact is still limited to a small percentage of the human population, so the WWW 2011 Conference to be held precisely in a developing country, India, will aim to emphasize the need to extend the influence of the web to cover all areas of the world.

The NIXI program and Google have opened scholarships to support candidates from developing countries and women to attend this important international event to be held from 28 March to 1 April.

NIXI program aims to encourage teachers and students from developing countries and poor regions, to continue a career related to the web and technology. Through its fellowships provide full support to attend the conference to those selected, including conference registration, accommodation and travel.

The requirements to apply for a scholarship for this program are not attending the conference WWW in the past, being in a region where the web does not have a considerable presence and show interest in internet and technology.

Each candidate also must have a "nominator" (top of your faculty member or faculty advisor), which must be sent by e-mail the required information. Further information can be found in http://www.www2011india.com/fellowships.html the same web address you can find information to apply to the bar program for women sponsored by Google, which encourages students to develop a research career in internet and technology. Candidates should preferably be candidates for Ph.D. or Master, who did not attend before the conference WWW.

The scholarship provides full support, including travel, lodging and conference registration.
