This initiative aims to promote exchange between Central American and European researchers as well as to encourage contacts between research institutions for joint participation in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

ENLACEThe second call of the Enhancing Scientific Cooperation between the European Union and Central America (ENLACE ) travel grant scheme is now open from 21st of March 2011 to 1st of May 2011, with the objective of support researchers from Central American countries to participate in an international conference or brokerage event in Europe and visit European research centers / institutions.

The travel grant consists of two components:

1. The participation of Central American researchers on specialized international conferences or brokerage events in Europe
2. Visits to specific research centers / institutions of thematic interest for the grantees
Researchers from the following countries are eligible to participate in the call: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.

The second call is open for international conferences and brokerage events taking place in Europe in all thematic areas of the FP7:

* Health
* Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Biotechnology
* Information & Communication Technologies
* Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials & New Production technologies
* Energy
* Environment (including Climate Change)
* Transport (including Aeronautics)
* Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities
* Space
* Security
