Major conference on digital repositories Print

Colombian Digital Library (BDCOL), RENATA and COLABORA Community invited to participate in the First Conference on Libraries and Digital Repositories, BIREDIAL, 9 to May 11, 2011.

Researchers, digital content responsible of the institutions, government and corporate sectors, as well as national and international guests will gather at the Universidad del Rosario in Colombia, to discuss scientific and technological advances in the field of Libraries and Digital Repositories, implementation experiences, collaboration and political about digital content management in Latin America.


The First Conference on Libraries and Digital Repositories, BIREDIAL 2011, expected to convene more than 150 people and become a space to discuss the importance of regional cooperation to develop a joint strategy for open access, intellectual property, policies and protocols to an institutional repository and the need to integrate universities, private enterprise and state in a single effort.


The event is expected to have the presence of leaders of the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), Norbert Lossau, Germany, Eloy Rodrigues, Portugal, and Alicia Lopez of Spain, Luis Núñez, Academic Relations Manager from RedCLARA, Félix de Moya from Scimago and more invited representatives of the Latino community.


BIREDIAL 2011 has the support of RedCLARA, the National Academic Network of Advanced Technology (RENATA), the Latin American Community Libraries and Digital Repositories (COLABORA) and the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR).
