Two contracts relating to the Red ARANDU just closed, so that Paraguay has taken a further step closer to its advanced networking.

Digital Project Mercosur has just finished international tenders and competitive negotiated procedure, resulting in the signing of 12 contracts, two of which deal specifically with the Red ARANDU.

 "Through these contracts, we are getting closer to the physical implementation of the Paraguay Academic Network" emphasizes Emilse Serafini, ARANDU coordinator.

Related contracts are LI02 and RC01.2. The first is the "provision of computer, networking and communications for the operation of the advanced network for education, research and innovation in Paraguay, Red ARANDU." The firm received in Electronics and Computer Technology Corporation (TEISA) with a contract of 250,000 euros, for a period of six months.

The second contract, for the same period is the preparation of the contingency plan and security policies and performance evaluation of the Red ARANDU won by Clemotte and Associates.

"The equipment purchased will allow the implementation of the Network Operations Center (NOC) at the site donated by the National University of Asuncion, on the campus of the National Computing Centre," said Serafini.
