The LATIn Project of the LACLO Community starts |

From 5th to 10th March 2012 was successfully carried out the Kick off meeting of the LATIn Project (Latin American Open Textbooks Initiative), in the city of Guayaquil and nearby regions of the Ecuadorian Coast.
The LATIn project is a project of the LACLO Community, funded by the European Union under No. DCI-ALA/19.09.01/11/21526/279-155/ALFAIII (2011) -52. It lasts 36 months and has a budget of 1,241,000 EUR. LATIn aims to improve accessibility to the Latin American University of low-income students and reduce dropout rates due to financial reasons, and for that objective it seeks to develop and disseminate a collaborative initiative to create open textbooks for university education in Latin America. The Kick off meeting of the project took place from 5th to 10th March, 2012 and was attended by representatives of the participating institutions, both in Latin America and Europe: • Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), Argentina. The objectives proposed at the beginning of the Kick off meeting were completely achieved, wich were: • Presentation of the Project.
