EACEA programme of the EC Call for proposals for Latin American Region Print
The programme objective is to achieve mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries co-operation in the field of higher education through promoting the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills. The deadline for submission of proposals is 15th October.

The External Cooperation Window programme of the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency, EACEA, of the European Community (EC) will publish in the coming weeks a new Call for proposals for the promotion of cooperation between higher education institutions and the exchange of students, researchers and academic staff between European Union member states and the countries targeted in the Latin America window.

The deadline for submission of proposals is 15th October 2009 and the planned duration of a project may not exceed 48 months. Eligible activities, including preparatory activities, can start on 1st December 2009, provided that contracts have been signed, and should all be finished before 1st December 2013.

The eligible countries for the activities covered by the Call are the 27 member States of the European Union, the European Candidate countries (Croatia and Turkey) and EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). In Latin American the countries are in the following geographical lots:
- Brazil, Paraguay,Uruguay

- Argentina, Bolivia, Peru

- Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama

- Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mexico

- Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Cuba

The Call for proposal will target partnerships compose by five European universities having subscribed an Erasmus Charter from at least three EU countries plus a minimum of two universities from each country in the corresponding geographical lot, one of which should be public. In addition, partnerships including universities from the least developed regions of the respective country of origin are encouraged.

The EC grants will contribute to financing institutional-based partnerships of European and Latin American higher education institutions to cover the organization of individual mobility of higher education students and academic staff and the implementation of individual mobility. The types of mobility and education to be funded in this Call are undergraduate, master, doctorate and post-doctorate mobility opportunities for students and exchanging for the purposes of teaching, practical training and research for academic staff.
