ScreensaverALICE2 celebrates the discovery of America, also known as Columbus Day, with a screen saver which commemorates the entrance in America of a Spanish force that, representing the Catholic kings of Spain and commanded by Christopher Columbus, arrived on Friday October 12th, 1492 to an island called Guanahani in what is now San Salvador (Bahamas). This is a memorable date because since then initiated the contact between Europe and America, which culminated in the so-called "meeting of two worlds."
