The GISELA project (Grid Initiatives for e-Science virtual communities in Europe and Latin America), co-founded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, was officially launched at its kick-off meeting held in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, between September 21st and 24th 2010.
The meeting was an excellent opportunity for the participants to get to know each other, exchange views and discuss in a warm environment about the challenges for the next two years. Many interesting presentations, motivating fruitful discussions, and the official election of the Project Management were the highlights of GISELA’s kick-off meeting hosted by the Univesidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi (UASLP).
GISELA brings together 19 partners from 15 countries, 11 in Latin America, in a solid alliance, strongly collaborating to establish a powerful Grid e-Infrastructure facility, structure and implement The presentations given during GISELA’s kick-off meeting can be found in the Event Server at http://indico.gisela-grid.eu.
